clinical dementia rating - sum of boxes (CDR-SB)

Derived from Clinical Dementia Rating score Procedure: - evaluates 6 domains of cognitive & functional performance: - memory - orientation - judgment & problem solving - community affairs - home & hobbies - personal care * each domain is scored from 0 (normal) to 3 (severe impairment) the scores are summed to produce the CDR-SB score Interpretation: - range 0-18, higher scores indicate greater impairment - 0: No cognitive impairment - 0.5 to 3.0: mild cognitive impairment - 3.5 to 6.0: mild dementia - 6.5 to 12.0: moderate dementia - > 12.0: severe dementia - score of 3.2 is consistent with early Alzheimer's disease
