chronic kidney disease epidemiology (CKD-EPI) collaboration equation
Equation used to estimate GFR
Principle:
- complicated, ambiguous description [1]
- uses minimum & maximum serum creatinine raised to [exp 1.209]
- version that uses both minimum & maximum serum creatinine & minimum & maximum serum cystatin-C all raised to a different power
- uses age
- uses fudge factors for gender (female) & race (black)
Notes:
- superior to MDRD equation when GFR > 60 mL/min/1.73 m2
- superior to MDRD equation in elderly
