Etiology:
- progressive loss of acclimitization to high altitude
Pathology: irreversible pulmonary artery hypertension
Clinical manifestations:
1) chronic malaise
2) headache
3) dizziness
4) easy fatigability
5) paresthesias
6) somnolence
7) diminished mental activity
8) cyanosis
9) clubbing
Laboratory:
1) polycythemia
2) oxygen desaturation
Radiology:
1) cardiac enlargement
2) lung fields appear normal
