chromosomal translocation t(8;21)(q22;q22) (AML-M2)

Translocation described as t8q22:21q22 resulting in over- expression of c-mos serine/threonine kinase. However c-mos maps to 8q11 (confusion regarding the c-mos locus in the past, see OMIM for c-mos). Found in acute myeloid leukemias particularly AML-M2, 18-40% of cases depending on reference []2].
