chromaffin cell

found in adrenal medulla, paravertebral & prevertebral sympathetic ganglia; part of amine precursor uptake & decarboxylation (APUD) system derived from neuroectoderm, innervated by preganglionic sympathetic nerves to release secretory products. Cells secrete epinephrine, norepinephrine & perhaps opioids.
