Epidemiology: - adults Pathology: 1) histologically similar to chondrosarcoma 2) immunohisotchemistry: - vimentin: + - S100: + - NSE: + - CD57: + - keratin: - - EMA: - - CEA: - - desmin: - Genetics: - chromosomal translocation t(9;17)(q22;q11) involving TAF2N with NR4A3 is found in a form of extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma - other implicated genes CSAG1, CSAG2, EXT1 Clinical manifestations: 1) pain 2) tends to present in axial skeleton in middle-age adults Radiology: 1) X-ray of affected region a) lucencies developing within calcification b) periostal reactions c) soft tissue mass 2) CT, MRI or bone scan useful Management: - surgical resection
