- 60.2 births per 1000 women age 15-44 (2017) 3% lower than in 2016 [1]
- birth rate among teens age 15-19 fell 7%
- cesarean section rate increased to 32%
- preterm delivery rate increased, now nearly 10%
- women in their early 40s were the only age group to see an increase in birth rates in 2017
