cervical rib

A supernumerary rib articulating with the 7th cervical vertebra, but rarely attach to the sternum. Commonly found in asymptomatic people. Pathology: Cervical ribs may compress fibers of the inferior trunk of the brachial plexus causing cervical rib syndrome.
