cerebral ischemia
Classification:
- transient ischemic attack
- ischemic stroke
- reversible ischemic neurologic deficit
Differential diagnosis:
- total cerebral hypoperfusion or syncope
Notes:
- the difference between transient ischemic attack & reversible ischemic neurologic deficit is unclear
- it is conceivable that neurologic ischemia could occur within the spinal cord or in the peripheral nervous system
- chronic mild cerebral ischemia may play a role in Alzheimer's disease via associations between cerebral blood flow, vascular health, & tau pathology driven in part by beta-amyloid burden [1]
Specific
ischemic prenumbra
ischemic stroke
reversible ischemic neurologic deficit (RIND)
subclavian steal; reversed Robin Hood syndrome
transient ischemic attack (TIA)
vertebrobasilar disease
General
disease/disorder primarily affecting brain
ischemia
