CD1

Compartment: - during protein synthesis & maturation, CD1 family members bind endogenous lipids that are replaced by lipid or glycolipid antigens when the proteins are internalized & pass through endosomes, before trafficking back to the cell surface Expression: - cortical thymocytes ~70% - activated T cells - Langerhans cells - interdigitating dendritic cells - pre-T ALL with cortical thymocyte phenotype - Langerhans cell histiocytosis. - mature peripheral T cells stain negatively with antibody.
