- hypercalciuria
- hyperoxaluria
- calcium oxalate stones
- ethylene glycol poisoning
Laboratory:
- urine microscopy
- envelope, dumbell or needle-shaped crystals in urine*
- positively birefringent crystals under polarized light
- blue when parallel & yellow when perpendicular to light
* described in [2] as narrow rectangles with pointed ends (images)
