CCAAT/enhancer binding protein (C/EBP, CBF, NF-Y protein)

Function: - DNA-binding protein that recognizes two different motifs: a) CCAAT-box common to many promoters b) enhanced core homology common to many enhancers - may regulate growth arrest in differentiating cells - different C/EBP isoforms form homodimers & heterodimers
