Indications: - mastectomy Procedure: - breast reconstruction after mastectomy facilitated by the use of breast implants [1,2] - some reconstruction techniques use autologous tissue [1,2] Complications: - overall complication rates were 33% [2] - 19% complication requiring reoperation - 10% (wound infections) - complications more likely for autologous flap reconstruction than for implant-based reconstruction [2] Notes: - 2 years later, patients more satisfied with autologous reconstruction than implants [2]
