Indications:
1) Alzheimer's disease
a) sensitivity > specificity
b) bilateral parietal hypometabolism
2) frontotemporal dementia
3) Huntington's disease (pathognomonic)
4) seizures
5) brain neoplasm
Procedure:
- also see positron emission tomograpy
- generally PET scan set to focus on gray matter
- white matter appears to have little metabolism
