Distinct subtype of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Etiology:
1) associated with human herpesvirus type 8
2) may occur in association with AIDS
Clinical manifestations:
1) malignant effusions
a) pleura
b) pericardium
c) peritoneum
2) no lymphadenopathy or large tumor mass
