Tradename: Zebeta. (bisoprolol_fumarate)
Indications:
1) hypertension
2) congestive heart failure*
* found to be beneficial in patients with CHF in clinical trial [3]
Dosage:
- start 5 mg PO QD, max 20 mg/day
- CHF: start 1.25 mg QD; max 10 mg QD
Tabs: 5, 10 mg.
Adverse effects:
- less likely to cause nightmares than atenolol, metoprolol
Mechanism of action:
- selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist
