beta glycosidic bond (linkage)

A glycosidic linkage in which the linking oxygen atom attached to C1 is below the plane of the ring in a Hawthorne projection. For pyranoses in the chair form, this translates to an equatorial anomeric C-O-R (where R is linked sugar).
