Indications:
- control of hemorrhage
- balloon tamponade for esophageal varices
- temporary surgical occlusion of artery or vein
- expansion of a lumen

- esophageal stricture, achalasia
- esophageal balloon distension provocation
- dilation of ureter (ureteral stricture)
