- heavy back packs [6]
2) sciatica
3) potentially serious underlying condition
a) fractures
b) tumors
c) infection (pyelonephritis)
d) urinary calculus
e) cauda equina syndrome
Clinical manifestations:
-> serious etiologies (RED FLAG symptoms)
a) bowel & bladder incontinence
b) saddle anesthesia
c) pain that is worse in the supine than upright position
d) severe progressive lower extremity neurological deficit
Management:
1) see low back pain
2) see ergonomics
3) see specific etiology
