atrioventricular [AV] node
Function:
- the AV node channels & delays conduction between the atria & the cardiac ventricles
Blood supply:
- in 90% of patients, the AV node is supplied by a small branch of the right coronary artery
- it is supplied by the left circumflex artery in the other 10%.
