arcuate popliteal ligament (popliteal arch, posterior ligament of knee)

- a broad fibrous band attached above to the lateral condyle of the femur - it passes medially & downward, blending with the posterior part of the fibrous capsule of the knee joint - it arches over the tendon of the popliteal muscle
