apolipoprotein A2 (APOA2)

Function: - structural protein of HDL - function of apo A2 is not entirely clear; however, it appears to play a play a stuctural role in HDL & a role in activation of triglyceride lipase & inhibition of LCAT - Met-49 is oxidized to methionine sulfoxide - phosphorylation sites are present in plasma - forms a disulfide- linked heterodimer with APOD - interacts with HCV core protein - interacts with APOA1BP & NDRG1 Structure: - homodimer, disulfide-linked - belongs to the apolipoprotein A2 family Compartment: secreted Expression: - synthesized in liver & intestine - secreted into plasma
