dilation of left ventricular apex Etiology: - Takotsubo cardiomyopathy - pheochromocytoma Pathology: - left ventricular systolic dysfunction Clinical manifestations: - tachycardia, hypotension, cardiogenic shock may occur Laboratory: - serum troponin I elevated - serum NT-proBNP elevated - plasma metanephrines for pheochromocytoma Special laboratory: - electrocardiogram may show tachycardia, poor R-wave progression, T-wave inversions, prolonged QTc interval - echocardiogram shows low LV ejection fraction, apical ballooning
