Etiolohy: - anti-glomerular basement membrane [GBM] disease - Goodpasture's syndrome - tubulointerstitial nephritis Pathology: - the antigen is an epitope from type 4 collagen found in alveolar & glomerular basement membranes - > 50% have lung involvement with hemoptysis, shortness of breath. or cough Laboratory: - glomerular basement membrane Ab in serum Management: - plasmapheresis - pulse glucocorticoid followed by oral prednisone - cyclophosphamide [2]
