Classification: These diseases include:
1) scrapie (sheep & goats)
2) transmissible mink encephalopathy
3) wasting disease of deer & elk
4) bovine spongiform encephalopathy
5) transmissible spongiform encephalopathy of captive wild ruminants*
6) feline spongiform encephalopathy#
* Wild ruminants affected include nyala, gemsbok, Arabian orynx, eland, kudu, scimitar-horned orynx, ankole & bison
# felines affected include domestic cat, puma, cheetah, ocelot & tiger
