Chest pain of cardiac origin. Pathology: - chest pain due to myocardial ischemia Laboratory: - serum lipoprotein cholesterol - elevated (>500 mg/L) in some patients - normal (< 300 mg/L) Special laboratory: - electrocardiogram - cardiac stress testing - stress echocardiography if dyspnea on exertion Management: - lipoprotein apheresis for patients with elevated serum lipoprotein cholesterol (>500 mg/L) [3]
