anemia of endocrine failure

Etiology: - anemia is often seen is association with: 1) hypothyroidism 2) Addison's disease 3) hypogonadism 4) panhypopituitarism Laboratory: - complete blood count 1) normochromia or hypochromia 2) normocytic, but may be hypochromic 3) anemia may be masked by decreased plasma volume
