neurexin alpha (alpha latrotoxin receptor, black widow spider venom receptor)

Neurexins are a family of cell surface proteins expressed exclusively in the central nervous system. At least 6 major neurexins are products of 3 genes, with each neurexin gene containing 2 independent promoters (3). The neurexins encoded by the longer transcripts are termed alpha-neurexins; beta-neurexins are encoded by the shorter transcripts. Alpha-neurexin is the receptor for black widow spider venom.
