aluminum chloride (AlCl3, Drysol, Xerac AC)
Tradenames: Drysol, Xerac AC. (aluminum chloride hexahydrate)
Indications:
1) astringent in the management of hyperhidrosis
2) topical agent in the management of acne vulgaris
Dosage: apply QHS: 20% (hyperhidrosis), 6.25% (acne vulgaris)
Drysol: 20% 37.5 mL
Xerac AC: 6.25% in 96% ethanol
Adverse effects: irritation (1-10%)
