2) G protein-coupled receptor, activates a phosphatidylinositol- Ca+2 2nd messenger system
3) C-terminal Ser or Thr may be phosphorylated
Structure: belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family
Compartment: cell membrane
Expression:
- expressed in liver, lung, adrenal, adrenocortical adenomas
Polymorphism:
- AGTR1 gene polymorphisms associated with hypertension
- two polymorphisms in AGTR1 promoter, in complete linkage disequilibrium are associated with human longevity [6]
Pathology:
- defects in AGTR1 are a cause of renal tubular dysgenesis
