- found in fresh water & brakish water
Pathology:
- skin inoculation in immunocompromised patients (cirrhosis)
- necrotizing fasciitis
- sepsis
Laboratory:
- Aeromonas identified by culture
Management:
- surgical assessment & debridement as needed
- doxycycline plus ciprofloxacin or ceftriaxone
