adenosylcobalamin; cobamamide (vitamin B12)

Adenosylcobalamin the cofactor of methylmalonyl CoA mutase, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of propionate formed from catabolism of odd chain fatty acids, cholesterol & the amino acids methionine, valine & isoleucine (via propionyl CoA). See methylmalonyl CoA mutase. Methylmalonic aciduria type A protein may be involved in the t ransport of cobalamin into mitochondria for the final steps of adenosylcobalamin synthesis.
