Indications:
1) hepatitis B (long-term)
a) may be combined with interferon-alpha 2b or lamivudine
b) response not sustained with 48 weeks of treatment [2]
2) nephrotoxic at doses needed to treat patients with AIDS
Dosage:
- need to take with L-carnitine
Storage:
- keep in original container
- original container has a desiccant [3]
Adverse effects: nephrotoxic
Laboratory:
- adefovir in serum/plasma
