Medial thigh muscles 1) Adductor longus 2) Adductor brevis 3) Adductor magnus 4) Gracilis 5) Obturator externus Action: - Adduct the thigh - Important stabilizing muscles during flexion & extension of the thigh Innercation: - obturator nerve (lumbar spinal nerve L2-L4) Physical examination: Testing of thigh muscles: -> Person lying in supine position with the knee straight -> Person adducts the thigh against resistence. -> If the adductors are normal, the proximal end of the gracilis & adductor longus can easily be palpitated
