Etiology: - photoaging Pathology: - weakness of perivenular connective tissue - dermal atrophy Clinical manifestations: 1) occurs on sun-exposed areas of skin, especially forearms 2) initiated by minor trauma or unrecongnized event 3) irregularly-shaped, well demarcated violaceous macules 4) variable size, a few millimeters to several centimeters 5) lesions asymptomatic 6) lesions persist for many weeks * images [4] Laboratory: - no testing indicated [2] Management: - no effective treatment - sun protection, sunblock, sunscreen
