acropustulosis of infancy
Epidemiology:
- occurs in young children during the first 2-3 years of life
Clinical manifestations:
- recurrent, self-limited, pruritic, vesicopustular eruption of the palms & the soles
Management:
- treatment is often unnecessary because of the self-limited nature of the disorder
- treatment of pruritus
- topical pramoxine
- oral antihistamines
- more difficult cases may justify more agressive therapy
- topical steroids
- oral dapsone
