- their ingredients provide the same high & are just as addictive as traditional opioids [1]
- many U.S. clinicians believe the ingredients are less addictive
- some abuse-deterent opioids may also contain an opioid receptor antagonist
- opioid abuse & diversion can occur with abuse-deterrent opioids [4]
