Indications:
- pulmonary neoplasm
- pulmonary nodule
- pulmonary metastases
Procedure:
- percutaneous thermal ablation [1]
- radiofrequency ablation
- microwave ablation
- interstitial laser ablation
- irreversible electroporation
- cryoablation
Clinical significance:
- percutaneous thermal ablation has
- very little impact on lung function
- a low complication rate
- limited hospital stay for patients
- can be repeated multiple times
Adverse effects:
- cryoablation associated with less risk of pneumothorax, but higher risk of bleeding than other procedues
